The fact is 2020 will remain in the History of the world, forever. And the name associated with it with be the virus that changed life, lifestyles, economies and attitudes for ever, Covid.


Challenging times indeed. Despite these tough situations, we see lots of humane stories unfolding as we speak. People feeding those who have no access to food; Police, doctors, medical shops, groceries, and hospital staff putting themselves at disproportionate risk to help others; neighbors taking care of elderly; companies paying employees despite tuff times. And we come across some not so heartening stories too.


Despite WFH, people now find time that was earlier spent on commute to work. So, when this really big door of time has opened, one must make the most of it. This is a ‘one of a kind’ offer. An offer for you to to work internally with yourself and chisel your best version that will be ready to step out renewed, re-energized, transformed consciously, on the other side of history.


Let us turn Covid on its head and make it constructive to our lives, forever. This acronym has now a new meaning. A powerful tool to improve our lives and become our best!


C for Conversations- In these times of social distancing, use the time to have healthy voice/online conversations that are agenda-less, with family, colleagues, ex-colleagues & friends. Conversations not only allow expression of affection, love, respect, they also open minds to new thoughts, views and perspectives. They spark your thinking and help articulate your thoughts too. I have always found great joy and inspiration while speaking to people.


O for Opportunity- Every challenge also gives an opportunity. Opportunity to become our best version. The opportunity to better ourselves has never been so openly available. Use it well. Whatever has been on the back burner, bring it forth and work on it. It could be knowledge upgrade through an online learning, pursuing a hobby, taking care of your loved ones….


V for Visualise- Now that you have some time to yourself, visualise what is it that you really want, need, aspire to become, fulfil? From the options you thought through in the earlier step, choose what is it that stands out when you visualise. Make a note of this in a book in great detail.


I for Inward- Everything begins from within. To achieve what you want (as noted earlier), it is important to look inwards. Be aware of what one is currently and what one needs to do to achieve the aspiration. This is the most important part. Being objective and unbiased about oneself.  This will help you build clear steps of actions to achieve. Jot down the steps.


D for Drive- Now that you have clearly identified your aspiration and also built steps to achieve the same, you have to drive yourself to do it. Self-motivation helps but you can also pamper yourself to a treat  or a vacation beyond home, once you achieve your dream goal. You can make it happen. There is still a good fortnight to a month of lock down, as of now.


Life on the other side of COVID could be people getting back to the earlier routine and forgetting all about the covid phase in a few months. But you will be one of the very few, and I say this, because it takes efforts of a special kind, who have used this opportunity constructively to transform yourself to your best version, emerging stronger, happier and fulfilled, by design.
