Dean Koontz said, “Intuition is seeing with the soul”. And Albert Einstein said, “I believe in intuitions and inspirations. I sometimes FEEL that I am right. I donot KNOW that I am”.
Intuition is something we feel. It is a great quality we are blessed with. However, we seldom use it.
Is intuition a necessary skill to have and use? The answer is yes. We must. It has been given to us to improve our life, to be what we are meant to be, with ease, with confidence.
When we use our intuition, we increase the chances of doing the things that are right. We effortlessly take decisions. We tap into a great reservoir of experience that give us relevant answers. And in no time.
Guided by intuition, our conviction and trust in ourselves increase by leaps.
In 1952 Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Raymond Lambert were at 28210 feet, just 900 feet away from Everest peak and from creating history! Seasoned professionals, both were excited about how close they were to being the first ones to summit the world’s highest mountain.
But right there, just 900 feet from eternal glory, they took a call to return based on their Intuition that guided them to return.
If there are two dates for a new office opening and both dates meet all the criteria equally, and you had to choose one, and you are connected to your intuition, you will immediately and instinctively pick one. Those who donot tap into their intuition will keep pushing the decision and not know which one to pick.
We were working on a new channel launch. On the day of launch, my colleague asked me what I expected the weekly ratings to be (television viewership data is released weekly). I spontaneously said 100 grps. It came from my intuition. He was puzzled. Our best-case analysis and estimations pointed at 75-80 grps. After a week, the results were out, 102 grps.
People have changed routes guided by intuition and escaped calamities. People have made wrong business decisions disregarding their inner feeling that was shouting out to them to not go ahead.
There are many stories we hear that tell us time and again that intuition works. Let us tap into this great power within us and allow it to work for us. Like our physical body, we need to keep our intuition well exercised for it to work effortlessly.
I am sharing a few steps that will connect us to our greatest ability- The Power of using our Intuition. It is really simple like most precious things in life are. I donot wish to complicate it.
1. Distract from clutter and calm your mind: Choose what works for you. I would recommend mindful tech distraction and 10 minutes meditation.
2. Listen to what you feel: Yes. Your intuition speaks to you. All you have to do is listen intently.
3. Trust yourself and hence your intuition: No one other than you can have that unwavering trust in you.
Trust your intuition rather than doubt it.
Intuition helps keep our edge sharp. Lets be the human intelligence(HI) that leads & creates AI and not the one that is replaced by AI.
